HOW MANY STOPS DOES EACH TOUR MAKE?
Hops and Stops’ Saturday tours are all 3.5 hours long and include stops at three area breweries or cider houses. Additional details for our Morning, Afternoon, and Evening tours can be found on our “Public Tours” page here.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE TICKET PRICE?
Every Hops and Stops trip includes transportation from downtown Boston to three area breweries, cider houses, and distilleries. All tours are led by one of our trusted brewery guides, available to answer your questions about each of the stops along the way. Trips include safe, sober transportation, bad brewing puns, trivia, and a quiz at the end of your trip. Most importantly, the tour will include a tasting at one of the breweries on your tour. The specific brewery included as the “tasting” site for each trip is highlight on the public tours page.
CAN I BOOK THE BUS FOR A PRIVATE EVENT?
We’re glad you asked! We’ve been working with private groups to build out customized tours for groups of all sizes. Our private group tours are available every day of the week except for Saturday. From birthday parties and bachelor parties to corporate events and bridal showers, we’ve seen it all! In addition to stops at local craft breweries and cider houses, we have partnerships with local area attractions that our guests can add to make their Hops and Stops event a hit! More information on our Private Tours can be found here.
ARE THERE GLUTEN-FREE TOURS AVAILABLE?
Unfortunately we do not currently offer a 100% gluten-free tour during our public tours on Saturdays. If you’re interested in coordinating a gluten-free private tour, we would be happy to build out an itinerary visiting a number of the local area cider houses, breweries, and distilleries that have a number of options for those with gluten-free dietary restrictions. If you are looking to join one of existing Public Tours, however, we strongly recommend the Saturday Afternoon tour, as both Bantam and Somerville Brewing Company have gluten-free options available at all times.
HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE IN EACH TOUR GROUP?
We keep both our public and private tours at a maximum group size of thirteen to ensure all guests have the opportunity to interact with our guides and the brewery operators. (Tours will run as long as there are four guests signed up for your tour!)
HOW MANY BREWERY/CIDER TOURS DO WE GO ON?
Each trip with Hops and Stops will include a “stop” at three local area cider houses and breweries. During each 3.5 hour trip, your group will go on one brewery or cider house tour. Hops and Stops’ guides are present at each stop to answer any questions you might have and make recommendations. We’ve cut down on the number of “tours” you take during each trip to ensure you maximize the amount of time you have to appreciate the offerings that each stop has available.
ARE THERE ANY OPPORTUNITIES TO BUY FOOD ON THE TOUR?
Absolutely! And while most stops do include some food options, we strongly recommend you eat something hearty prior to your trip.
WHAT HAPPENS IF IT IS RAINING/SNOWING?
The team at Hops and Stops is always ready to go! Since our start of operations in 2016, we’ve pushed through some of the worst snow and rain storms that mother nature could throw our way. In the event we need to cancel due to serious weather, we will notify you immediately and provide full refunds or, if you’d prefer, assist in re-booking for a future date.
WHAT DOES "RENT THE BUS" MEAN ON A SATURDAY TOUR?
If you’re seeing this - you’re in luck. Whenever there are open seats available on an entire bus, we offer groups the opportunity to “Rent the Bus” on Saturday to reserve the entire bus for their trip. This option is great for parties or weekend events that you may know of in advance. If you’re thinking of traveling with Hops and Stops on your Birthday in a few months, look ahead on the schedule to see if a “Rent the Bus” option is available!
WHAT IS YOUR REFUND POLICY?
Hops and Stops will issue a full refund for tickets if notified more than 72 hours before Trip Departure. Tickets are transferable to another guest up to the event start time. **For full bus rentals and Private Tours, Hops and Stops will issue a full refund if notified more than 1 week in advance of your event trip date. Within 1 week of your tour, a 50% refund will be issued up to 72 hours prior to your event start time.**
WHERE DO I MEET THE BUS?
All Public Tours start from right outside The Black Rose near Faneuil Hall. We picked this location so all of our guests can use any of Boston’s MBTA T-Lines and Commuter Rail stations to join our tours and get home safely after your trip.
If heading downtown does not work for you, Hops and Stops can start Private Tours anywhere that works for your group - from Norwood to Lynn, Hingham to Woburn, or anywhere in between.
DO I NEED TO BE 21 TO JOIN THE TOUR?
Yes, all participants will need to be 21 at the time of their tour.
CAN WE DRINK ON THE BUS?
We are currently exploring the necessary licensing to allow our guests to drink between stops. At this time, all Hops and Stops tours will require guests to drink in designated locations at each of the stops!
DO WE GET TO THE PICK THE STOPS WE GO ON FOR OUR TRIP?
All Public Tours have pre-set schedules, which can be reviewed here. Hops and Stops created its Saturday schedule with our partners in mind to ensure we are visiting their tasting room at a time that is convenient for them and better for you. As a result, our tours will allow you to have more time and room to enjoy each of the breweries and cider houses that we visit.
All Private Tours are fully customizable. As you build out your requested schedule, our team of tour professionals will work with you to build a plan, based on your requests and the operators’ availability.
